The National Democratic Congress, NDC is scheduled to hold a Functional Executive Committee meeting on Wednesday to set a date for its National Delegates Congress.
The party is currently holding regional delegates congress across the country in preparation for the national congress.
The NDCs October 25 National Delegates Congress was postponed due to a court case brought against the party executives for for allegedly overstaying their mandated tenure of office.
Scheduled congresses at the regions have been rocked with legal suits but the party said it is hopeful it will surmount the challenges.
A Deputy General Secretary of the party, Kofi Adams told Citi News, the national congress will be held before Christmas.
The proposed date which will be settled on by the Functional Executive Committee will be submitted to National Executive Committee (NEC) for approval.
According to Kofi Adams, the party can actually go ahead with the national congress because once two thirds of the regions have had their regional conferences, you dont need all the regions per our constitution.
We dont need all the regional conferences to have the national congress, he added.
He was certain that by the close of this week, almost all the regional conference will be completed.
