Policy Analyst of the People's National Convention (PNC), Atik Mohammed has called on government to reveal the identities of the over 300 persons being prosecuted for corruption in the country.
President John Mahama on Monday revealed that over 300 persons are being prosecuted for their involvement in various acts of corruption as of 2013.
As of July 2013, over 300 individuals were on remand for corruption and related offences...In respect to allegations of corruption at GYEEDA, there are ongoing prosecutions of public officials involved, including former high-ranking officials. Service providers who breached the terms of their contracts are being held to refund the monies to Government, President Mahama said at a high-level conference organized by the National Anti-Corruption Action Plan (NACAP) in Accra.
But speaking on Peace FM's "Kokrokoo", Atik Mohammed told host Kwami Sefa Kayi that the President claim demands further probing, hence calling on him to disclose the list of alleged 300 corrupt persons.
To him, the President should not just make blatant claims without any proof and further charged him to hound the "obvious candidates for prosecution - Woyome - who are prancing in town.
