Flagbearer of the Ghana Freedom Party, (GFP) Akua Donkor on Thursday filed her nominations at the headquarters of the Electoral Commission (EC), to contest in the upcoming Presidential elections in December.
Madam Akua Donkor submitted her forms to the Chairperson of the EC, Charlotte Osei, in the company of some senior members of the GFP. Her filing of nominations has come as a surprise to some political watchers who thought she would have stayed back and throw her support behind President John Mahama whom she says has performed creditably in office and continues to shower praises on.
She joins the likes of NPP Flagbearer Nana Akufo Addo and National Democratic Party (NDP) Nana Konadu Agyeman Rawlings who have all filed their nominations.
Filing of nomination will close Friday, September 30, 2016.
