Consultant to the National Health Insurance Authority, last Friday, presented the list of 123 Community Senior High Schools under various stages of completion to host Kwami Sefa Kayi in the studios of Peace FM.
Ametor Quarmyne who had initially promised the people of Ghana to release the list of the schools in attempt to corroborate the achievements of the Mahama administration, made available the list after telling the host he had combed the Ministry of Education without success, when queried by Kwami Sefa Kayi for failing to bring it on his next visit to the station as planned.
Deputy Minister of Education in charge of Tertiary Education, Samuel Okudzeto Ablakwa, in a statement indicated that the 123 Community SHS have all been awarded on contract, adding that some of the schools have been commissioned by the President.
He further stated that others have been completed while some are nearing completion.
Though the list has been provided, the question of the source of funding for the project was hazy; so it was broached on Wednesday's edition of "Kokrokoo".
Ametor Quarmyne revealed today that 23 out of the 200 Community SHS promised by President John Mahama were being funded by the World Bank.
Ametor said on the programme that "the 200-based Secondary School project is the Ghana government project. The World Bank has decided to sponsor 23 of them."
Expounding further, NDC Parliamentary candidate for Bongo and Public Relations Manager of the Ministry of Energy, Edward Bawa, a co-panelist on the show, attested to the fact saying "the point is this, we had 200 schools to build. That’s what we told Ghanaians. The sources of funding is diverse; part of source of funding is the World Bank.”
However, seasoned journalist, Abdul Malik Kweku Baako believes the information relayed by the government officials is misleading.
According to him, the two officials have given "new angle. That was not the policy you (Mahama government) put out in the beginning. That was not what was put out."
Peace FM's Kokrokoo Production Team will however scrutinize the list of 123 schools provided by the government in the coming days.
Our seasoned reporters will file field reports on the various "stages of completion" of the 123 SHSs .

I'm expecting peacefm team to go around to control those areas if it's truly build or not
Peace FM and Kwaku Baku should be informed that if they are ***barred word*** about some information doesn't mean the whole country has been short changed. You should be grateful to Ametor Kwame for providing them with the documents so that they can be informed on the issues at stake. So after all Kwaku Baku didn't have those documents and their sources of finance.Shame on you all.
What's wrong even if world bank fund all the 200? Were we expecting Mahama to fund them from his pocket?
My shock is with Kweku Baako, the man known as Mr.Documents trying to paint a picture that he is not aware that 23 out of the 200 project is being funded by world bank, waoooo.
THIS TURNING INTO ABSURDITY AS THE TIME GOVERNMENT PROPOSED THIS IDEA IN 2012 THEN WORLD BANK IT WAS A GOOD IDEA SO THEY WOULD EVEN HELP BY BUILDING 23 FOR US AND YOU ARE SAYING IT IS A REVEALATION SO PEACEFM IS JUST PLAYING WITH WORDS AND WE WOULD NOT BE FOOOOOOOLED
FUNDED BY IMF, AFRICA BANK, WORLD BANK OR EVEN PRESIDENT OBAMA ....WHAT MATTERS IS THAT THE SCHOOLS ARE BEING BUILT. FUCCKING PEACE FM.
OF COURSE, WE HAVE KNOWN THIS FOR AGES!!! I CAN'T BELIEVE THAT PEACE FM IS NOW LEARNING THIS!! YOUR PRO-NPP AGENDA IS BLINDING YOU TO THE OBVIOUS!!! LEANING TOWARDS A PARTICULAR POLITICAL ORIENTATION DOES NOT MEAN YOU SHOULD CLOG YOUR EARS AND BLIND YOURSELVES TO REALITY!!! WAKE UP!!
