A motion has been moved in parliament to approve the nomination of Deputy Local Government Minister-designate John Oti Bless, less than two months to the elections.
Ghana heads to the polls on December 7 to elect a president and legislators to govern the country for the next four years.
The nomination of Mr Bless generated heated debate in parliament, prompting the house to defer the motion to enable the leaders of the house confer among themselves.
Parliament had put on hold the approval of MR Bless’ nomination in August this year following revelations, after his vetting by the Appointments Committee, that the Nkwanta North MP had made disparaging comments about the Chief Justice on Accra-based Montie FM.
A group had petitioned parliament against approving Mr Bless' nomination after the abusive audiotape became public.
Speaker of Parliament Edward Doe Adjaho told the house on Thursday August 5 that further consultation needed to be had on Mr Bless' nomination.
Mr Bless later apologised for the comments against the Chief Justice.

Why consider this cr*azy donkey when the president himself and his vice and chief of staff have abandoned their work and busy campaigning? This government is really incompetent! See his face like Adu-Asare crying at the commission.
Any serious government will not do this with just 2 months to the election what is he gonna do at that ministry. When people talk about incompetency, the president does not comprehend.Appoint a minster so he can take ex-gratia at the end as a minster. God bless Ghana
STOP this nonesense. WHat is he going to do just a month for NDC to pack it ***barred word*** self
If his apology is accepted, Each and everyone will in future abuse people and later say I am sorry. People said these and worse things during 2008 Election time, only to say at their respective Ministerial Committee that they were all POLITICAL TALK. But they have already defamed those people concerned.
So no good person in NDC than this ooo God save Ghana from this john Mahama government? Oti oooh Ghana is DOOM.
