President John Dramani Mahama’s scheduled farewell tour of the nation has been postponed indefinitely.
The tour, which was to thank party supporters over the December 7 elections, albeit unsuccessful, was scheduled to begin in the Upper East Region on Tuesday, December 20.
But a source within the Regional Coordinating Council said information obtained on Monday night said the event will not come off.
The tour would have seen President Mahama meet traditional and religious leaders.
It was scheduled to end in the Greater Accra Region on Friday, December 30.
A new start date is expected to be communicated soon.

He was actually going round to ask all the chiefs who took the V8s cars and dollars to return them to him. Those who pledged to give him 80% votes deceived him and rather humiliated him and he would have held their cloths and knickers to return all gifts.Unfortunately those chiefs are nowhere to be found so the retrieving tour has to be postponed.
JM still TWASO.
It is good to thank not only when things go your way. People voted for him, others are also watching what he will do when he lost. Appreciation is extremely important. Elections is just like a football match, a good team can lose when she does not do things right before or during the match. The team can only regain your glory when first she concede that she has lost and not because she was cheated but her tactics were wrong and know that there is an opportunity to make amends and work at it. NDC should let the supporters know that it is normal to lose an election but it is not a pleasant thing to experience. There is an opportunity to come back in 2020. Just put your house in order and everything will be fine. Mahama will be the saddest person since he has not lost elections before and I think this is good for him, he can be able to advice how it feels like, by now I can see he is getting over it. That is not the end of life. NPP were much sure to win 2008 elections but they lost, just imaging how they felt. Why should it always be you? Nana has suffered enough, it is fair for him to have it and let us all experience the heaven he has been promising, if it comes, we are all the winners because we will be better off but if he fails, of which i will not be surprise off then Mahama will come back in 2029 to continue his agenda. It is just a matter of time and let us all be patient.
WHY IS PRESIDENT MAHAMA BENT ON WASTING OUR SCARCE FINANCIAL RESOURCES AS A COUNTRY? PLEASE, MR PRESIDENT, GET ONTO GTV AND EXPRESS WHATEVER GRATITUDE YOU HAVE. YOU HAVE NO RIGHT TO CONTINUE WASTING OUR MONEY WHEN THE GOOD PEOPLE OF GHANA HANDED DOWN TO YOU A 'CLEAN' VERDICT ON DECEMBER 7. I CALL ON PRESIDENT-ELECT, AKUFO ADDO, UPON ASSUMING OFFICE ON JAN.7, TO IMMEDIATELY RETRIEVE EVERY PESEWA SPENT ON THIS PRETENTIOUS AND FRIVOLOUS 'THANK YOU TOUR'. STOP NOW, MR. MAHAMA! ELSE, POSTERITY WILL NEVER FORGIVE YOU. YOU HAVE NOT RIGHT WHATSOEVER TO DO THIS TO THE GOOD PEOPLE OF GHANA.
ANY PUBLIC PLACE THAT MAHAMA WILL APPEAR IN GHANA, HE WILL BE HOOTED AT. TAKE IT OR LEAVE IT. HE WAS REMOVED FROM OFFICE BECAUSE OF INCOMPETENCE. HE SHOULD SNEAK OUT FROM POLITICS SILENTLY TO AVOID FURTHER DISGRACE.ONE TERM ONE ROUND DEFEAT FOR INCUMBENT PRESIDENT IS A BIIIIIIG DISGRACE.
Not necessary!!!!!!!!!!!!!! JDM..............!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
CAN'T IMAGINE WHAT WOULD HAVE TRANSPIRED BETWEEN THE DORMAAHENE (SERIAL CALLER) AND SUNYANIHENE (80%) AMONG SEVERAL OTHERS IF THEY MET.
It's a needless exercise born out of mediocrity. Campaign is over Jack! Just move on and let's the chopper be!
