Greater Accra Regional chairman of the National Democratic Congress, Joseph Ade Coker, says the government does not need rocket scientists to identify vehicles belonging to the state that are in individual hands.
“This is simple. They don’t need a rocket science to determine a car is a state property,” he said on Onua FM’s morning show, Yen Sempa on Monday. He thus condemned the invasion of people’s houses in a rambo-style by some persons said to be agents of the government, to confiscate vehicles believed to belong to the state.
Mr Ade Coker consequently wants the government to publish a full list of state vehicles which are in possession of individual hands, with their registration and chasis numbers, in order for those people to submit same to the state.
Some persons believed to be operatives of the National Security went to the house of NDC’s National Organiser, Kofi Adams, last week where they seized five cars from and later returned same.
National Security Minister, Albert Kan-Dapaah, reportedly apologised to Mr Adams on phone, and claimed government did not sanction the raiding of Mr Adams’ home.
Reacting to the issue on Onua FM Monday, Mr Coker said there is no need for the government to go to anyone’s house to locate and retrieve vehicles they believe to belong to the state.
“They don’t need to come to my house because they have the inventory of all the government cars.
They should go to the DVLA to check and if any of the vehicles are found with me, I will give it to them”, he told host of the show, Bright Asempa.

Ade if you are found to be hiding any of the vehicles belonging to the state before you bring it out yourself, you will be sorry in court. Why? Because you were hiding it or stealing it. Finito!!!
You are right Mr Ade Coker but with the smartness of your people, changing chassis and trade plates what punishment do you prescribe for those who may be found wanting?
But it takes an evil heart and one with no feelings for the sufferings of the people to pilfer one.
