A former Presidential Staffer Clement Apaak has dismissed claims that over 200 vehicles used by the former President John Mahama and members of his administration cannot be found.
The communications director at the Presidency Eugene Arhin told NeatFM that the unavailability of the vehicles has forced the president, Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo to resort to vehicles he used during the 2016 campaign for trips outside Accra.
Mr. Arhin added that the saloon car being used by Akufo-Addo within Greater Accra is a 2007 BMW model which was purchased during the Ghana@50 celebrations.
“As I speak to you there is only one vehicle he has been using during his rounds in Accra. You definitely have to ask yourself where are all the vehicles…President Akufo-Addo is currently using a 2007 BMW model purchased by the state during the Ghana @50 celebrations…that is what he is using. So where are the cars?” he rhetorically asked Kwasi Aboagye, host of the show.
Mr. Arhin told Naa Dedei Tettey on Starr Today Tuesday.
But Mr. Apaak in a reaction described the claims as strange stating that all government officials handed over their vehicles before they left office.
“It is a strange occurrence because as far as I know all cars that we used should be in the custody of the state…I will find it a bit more strange if indeed the claims he [Eugene Arhin] made can be justified.
Asked whether he returned his official vehicle before he left office, Mr. Apaak said “I did and I know many of our colleagues also handover their cars.”
Apaak added “the only vehicles that we were allowed to pay as part of auction are the salon cars that we had used for four years…so to say that 200 cars are missing I find it strange and one that we cannot fathom with.”

People like Apaak will have to die before the party called NDC can attempt to return to power in Ghana.... They are very wicked people leading the NDC. lies lies lies. They dislike thge truth... Your people in the north are living in poverty and you waist this gargantuan money on cars at the presidency. you guys are very wicked.... You went to school for free with no benefit to society.
Mr Apaak where is the Ford
TOYOTA CAMRY 2015 MODEL WAS AUCTIONED FOR 4000GHS BY NDC GOVERNMENT.APAAK AND CO BOUGHT 3 EACH. KOFI ADAMS BOUGHT UNREGISTERED V8 FOR 6K
You should do the country a favor by showing us where each car was returned to. Period!! Please help me to understand what you said. "as far as I know all cars that we used should be in the custody of the state" Please SHOULD is not the same as "ARE". They should be in the custody of the state, but the truth is that they are not!! So, how does your response help us? THE SOLUTION IS THE SPECIAL PROSECUTOR. When we start jailing them, the rest will return them. That is the language Ghanaians understand.
Very interesting how the npp ***barred word*** just believe everything their shepherds tells them.
These NDC hogs are very quick in reacting stupidly to issues and later run into hiding when the truth comes out. This Apaak guy was quick to discredit His excellency the Vice Prez Dr. Bawumia when he expressed shock at the cost of Vice prez. Palace, when the truth came out he'd shud his ***barred word*** beak. The same is happening with the ***barred word*** vehicles.Nation wreckers and looters,What a sad characters!May they rot in opposition.
Tell us about the BRAND of car you bought. the year and the price. I believe you are HONEST.
YOU AND WHO AND HANDED TO WHO ?
You may have parked the cars but some ndc functionaries wanting to benefit like the big men at the top also took their share.
We are demanding the verification, and not the 'justification' of the over 200 cars tucked away in NDC stolen homes. Come and tell us where the vehicles are, Mr. Apaak.
