Some angry youth from the Afigya Kwabre District in the Ashanti Region, have sounded a word of caution to Hon. Kan Dapaah to desist from the practice of fielding members of his family into political positions they never worked for.
The group, in a statement issued over the weekend, warned that the current National Security Minister, is noted for lobbying for positions on behalf of his family members without leaving room for others who have toiled and labored for the New Patriotic Party to occupy.
Full statement below…
We the Concern Youth of Afigya Kwabre want the President of Ghana, His Excellency Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo to reward hard working members of the party and not to encourage some members notably Hon. Kan Dapaah, from fielding his family members into the juicy positions they never worked for.
Afigya Kwabre District was created in 1st November 2007 carved out of Kwabre East and Sekyere South Districts by the Legislative Instrument 1885.
The District has two constituencies namely Afigya Kwabre North and Afigya Kwabre South and is administered by the Afigya Kwabre District Assembly, with Kodie in the Southern part of the district, as its capital.
When the district was created in 2007, Kwasi Karikari Achamfour the nephew of Hon. Kan Dapaah was appointed the first DCE of the district and this was fairly because the district was new. We the Concern Youth of Afigya Kwabre said nothing about his appointment and helped him to work until he handed over to Hon. Kaakyere Oppong Kyekyeku of the NDC.
During 2016 campaign, we never saw Kwasi Karikari Achamfour in any political activities or work in the District. So we are not going to entertain "monkey they work bamboo they chop" attitude in our district.
Hon. Kan Dapaah was a minister under His Excellency J.A. Kuffour and his nephew Kwasi Karikari Achamfour became the DCE of the Afigya Kwabre District but this time, we are not going to accept the Akan proverb "Kokofu bɔɔlo bɔ..." in the appointment of the DCE.
The Presiding Member of the Afigya Kwabre District Assembly is from the North and we the Concern Youth are not going to accept the DCE appointment from the North too.
We the Concern Youth never saw any chief or clergy during our 2016 campaign, so why are they now intervening in the appointment of our DCE?
We the Concern Youth Of Afigya Kwabre don't want to capture the headlines of the print, air or electronic media so we want His Excellency Nana Akufo-Addo to reward hard working members but not those who will sit somewhere and fold their arms with the aim that my uncle will lobby for me- "Wofa wɔhɔ" when the time comes.
We want someone who sacrificed his life for the party's victory not those who retired from politics during the 2016 campaign.
*Afigya Kwabre District is not for Hon. Kan Dapaah and Family.*

i am of the form belief that this kan dapaah man is a creating a lot of problems for the npp government. he needs to be replaced ASAP. all the bad press the party is getting can be traced to the way he is running the ministry of national security. nana addo must seriously look at him again.
I told you so. No matter their(NPP) good intentions one must never campaign for the NPP for free if you don't have a seat in the inner circles. they have no respect for the common man in their party.
N,D,C AND N,P,P WILL BE FACED OUT OF GHANA POLITICS COME 2020, NEW POLITICAL PARTIES WILL BE FORMED BY THE YOUTH OF GHANA, FROM GH PEOPLE
hahaaaha, asem aba!!! all of you , take your certificates and go and work. Cheap people, lazy kokos. Lazyyyyy!!!! cheap bragging ***barred word*** balls
NPP QUASEAFUO PARTY. NPP JIMIFUO KUO
If all these disagreements are coming just three months into office then I wouldn't not be surprised if Npp goes to opposition so soon. There has not been a day that something different has cropped up in Npp, since they assumed office. Interestingly, all these are coming from Ashanti and eastern regions, their strongholds. Pathetic.
IT LOOKS LIKE PARTY OFFICERS HAVE STOP WORKING TO MAINTAIN CLOSE GAP BETWEEN GOVERNMENT AND THE PARTY. IT HAPPENED TO NDC AND IT DID NOT GO WELL FOR THEM. THE SENSIBLE THING FOR THE PARTY TO DO IS TO GO AYARIGA WAY. IF AYARIGA IS PARDON LET US DO SAME TO DELTA FORCE AND CLOSE THE THE NASTYYY BEHIND US. AYARIGA SAGA AND DELTA FORCE ISSUE SHARE COMMON SIMILARITIES. IN BOTH CASES SOME GROUP OF PEOPLE BEHAVED AND ACTED IMMATURELYYYY. IN THE FIRST OPPORTUNITY TO APOLOGIZE THEY ACTED STUPIDLYYY TO WORSEN THEIR THE CASE AND GENERATED MORE PUBLIC ANGER. GIVING SERIOUS THINKING TO THE MATTER ONE CAN NOTICE THAT THE WHOLE SCENARIO IS PART OF THE TRANSITION. JUST AS IT WAS PREVAILED ON AYARIGA TO APOLOGIZE SO IT MUST BE PREVAIL ON THE DELTA FORCE TO APOLOGIZE. THE DELTA FORCE ISSUE IS CLEAR INDICATION OF STRUGGLE FOR POWER BETWEEN THE PARTY AND THE EXECUTIVE IN ASHANTI REGION. WUNTUMI AS THE REGIONAL PARTY CHAIRMAN SHOULD ACT DIPLOMATICALLY TO MANAGE THE THE STRUGGLE.
