Posterity will probably be the better judge, but even before that comes to the fore, Ex-President John Dramani Mahama, who left office just a few months ago, strongly believes his administration performed creditably well by leaving "quite a legacy for this country".
He has therefore asked anyone who served under him not to "feel ashamed or have our heads bowed in any way" since they did a yeoman's job.
At a meeting with former Ministers & Deputy Ministers of State, former Appointees, and former Presidential Staffers in Accra last month, the former president expressed his profound gratitude to his former appointees for their selfless dedication to the country under his leadership.
“We haven’t had the opportunity to meet since we handed over the regimes of government to the new administration. I really didn’t get the opportunity to say my thank you to all of you for the work that you did in supporting me to achieve what we were able to achieve over the period that Ghanaians gave us the privilege of serving in office. I thought bringing you all here to say a proper thank you was appropriate,” he said.
The December 2016 election results came as a ‘surprise’ to the Mahama-led government after the Electoral Commission (EC), declared the opposition New Patriotic Party (NPP) Presidential Candidate, Nana Akufo-Addo, winner of the 2016 elections.
The NPP Flagbearer secured the presidency after his third time of asking, beating the incumbent, President John Mahama.
Nana Akufo-Addo rode on the back 53.85 percent of the valid votes cast to become Ghana’s fifth president under the fourth Republic.
Mr. John Mahama, who ran on the ticket of the then governing National Democratic Congress (NDC), secured 44.40 of valid votes cast - his defeat makes him the first incumbent to lose an election since Ghana returned to multi-party democracy in 1992.
After leaving the presidency, many have accused his appointees of playing several roles that contributed to their shocking defeat. The NDC has also for the past weeks been in a state of disarray as the blame game continues.
But Mr Mahama seems pleased with his appointees’ contribution during his stay at the Flagstaff House as Ghana’s President.
At the said meeting which was held in Accra on March 28, Mr Mahama charged his gallant appointees to feel proud of what they have been able to achieve for the country over the years.
“So let me say a big thank you to every single one of you for the role that you played in government in any position that you were and what you did in monumental achievement that we chalked. I believe that you must hold your heads high because that government [NDC] did a lot for this country and I do believe that posterity will be the judge eventually”
"I am proud of the work we all did together. We had a very well good working relationship and I think that we were effective in virtually every sector in which we operated and we left quite a legacy for this country we shouldn't feel ashamed or have our heads bowed in any way. Let continue to defend that legacy because we will run on that in 2020" he added.

Yes, those who are talking about a legacy of corruptions,...good. Nana's government has only been three months and we are seeing a very good legacy of thuggery, overloaded government size (110 ministers), AMERI sponsored trip to investigate them (give it another name if that is not corruption), plagiarism at the highest peak that a party that so prides itself with "we have the men; we have the brains," and so on and so forth. Only heaven knows the legacy they will leave after four years. Talk, they say, is cheap; mouth mouth is, indeed, cheap. A legacy of Delta ***barred word***, invisible 1nsanity, Rambo prim1tivity, 1mmaturity at unprecedent heights and you think you have the moral right to point fingers. Trailblazers of corruptions, think of the JAK HOTEL, Eric A moateng and the cocaine saga, think of chasing a loan to a hair salon and you think you are so immaculate to accuse someone of corruption. SMH!!!
Legacy in Ghana or Dubai
Even as you seek to admonish that people should not be ashamed but have their heads up, you look ashamed and have your head down. Remember that today you complain of media giving you too much attention and advised your people not to grant interviews. Remember oooo and do not come complaining later that media is being bias!

ETHIOPIA HAS USED THE SAME BUDGET YOU USED TO RESURFACE THE RUNWAY OF KUMASI AIRPORT TO BUILD TWO AIRPORTS!!!! YOU MUST KNOW THAT WE ARE NOT GULLIBLE AND CANNOT BE TAKEN FOR WHIMSICAL RIDES!!! YOU HAD BETTER BE QUIET AND SWIM ION TYOUR ILL-GOTTEN BOOTY WHICH IUS STASHED AWAY IN DUBAI AND LEAVE US ALONE TO PICK UP THE PIECES!! DONT COME SHOOTING YOUR STENCH-FILLED MOUT!!!! JUST ***barred word*** AND GO AWAY!!!
So why is it still difficult for frm Prez John Mahama and the NDC to know that they lost the 2016 elections due to some reasons such as: 1. Corruptions (i.e. Wayome Scandal, Ameri deal, World Cup scandal, etc) 2. Bus branding issues 3. Montie 3. 4. High cost of living, utility bills and fuel prices 5. Embargo on employment. 6. Teacher and Nursing Training allowances redraws. 7. Arrogant and incompetent appointees 8. National Service Scandal 9. Unserious nature of presidency (i.e. ***barred word*** syndrome and etc) 10. High taxes and introduction of additional taxes. 11. Unstable economy and weak cedi. 12. And etc...... Until NDC comes into realization that these factors contributed to their defeat, then I am sorry they will be in opposition for long.
Ooooooooh Legacy of corruption
LEGACY OF CORRUPTION.
Yes indeed you left a legacy of CORRUPTION for sure and no one can doubt that, let alone challenge that.
Massa keep quite and enjoy your ***barred word*** booty in your rat hole and stop disturbing us with your unnecessary disinteresting comments. It makes a lot of noise in our ears.
Don't deceive yourselves. If you did well as you claim, you would have won the elections. Ghanaians voted against incompetent and corruption. And you were then in charge.
