Acting General Secretary of the governing New Patriotic Party (NPP) John Boadu said the Nana Addo’s administration will only accept the 43 ordered vehicles by the erstwhile Mahama’s government if they find it necessary.
A former Presidential staffer in the Mahama administration, Dr. Clement Apaak, had disclosed that his government ordered some 43 new vehicles a few days before leaving office, upon the request of the incoming Akufo-Addo administration.
Dr. Apaak also noted that, the Mahama administration agreed to the request by Nana Akufo-Addo’s side because they felt that the security of the incoming president was of importance.
But speaking to the issue on the Citi Breakfast Show, the deputy Information Minister, Kojo Oppong Nkrumah recalled that, in 2016, all the transition meetings between the two parties never included the vehicles.
“In all the transition meetings that we attended and in all the matters that we discussed, I had never heard of this matter” he said.

The Nana Addo government are NO fulls and have the legal expetise to rely on ;the question was there any contract signed and if there was; was it a legitimate contract and did it go through the normal process of procurement because the amount involved is huge and why were these cars ordered so late or perhaps were the cars ordered long before the elections another Woyome criminal minded CREATE LUT AND SHARE !!!!!
From this news item, it seems to me like a new set of vehicles would be procured for any new President as the new leaders would feel insecure using the existing fleet. If so, may I ask, "What is the best practices elsewhere? For example, in the US is the BEAST changed with each new President?" Can't the existing ones be 'adjusted' to suit the new leaders, so that the country would not have to spend that much again?
the headline is misleading. Peacefm, what kind of eddddiot have you employed on your website. You guys have to be lynched at Denchira. Abbbuwa Peace fm, nkwaseeeafuor website
Let your yes be yes & no be no not maybe or neutral. Too many potholes & untarred roads across the Country & those you queue in 100 degrees to vote for love cars more than the poor kid with no chalk or desk to sit on.
This is purely false and without any basis. Ordering such vehicles is not the same as ordering bicycles, nor even salon cars due to the technicalities involved. So it does not make sense to order such vehicles within that minimum amount of time left in office. These vehicles were ordered long time ago for the perceived second coming of prez Mahama.
