James Kwabena Bomfeh, popularly called Kabila, has sought to expose the biased and partisan character of Speaker of Parliament, Professor Mike Oquaye.
Reacting to comments by Prof. Mike Oquaye on a lecture about Ghana's destiny, Kabila was disgusted by what he terms as a "deliberate attempt" by the Speaker and the NPP government to write off the historical legacy of Ghana's First President Dr. Kwame Nkrumah.
Delivering a public lecture in Accra on Friday, August 4 on the theme "4th August; Ghana's Day of Destiny", the Speaker of Parliament is quoted to have said the country wasn't founded by Dr. Kwame Nkrumah as widely held in the history books of the country.
According to him, there's the need for the Ghana's history to be told in its entirety; in that J.B Danquah, a Ghanaian statesman and one of the doyens of Gold Coast liberation deserve to be celebrated as playing a major and significant role in founding Ghana.
Prof Mike Oquaye also indicated that the if the Kwame Nkrumah's Convention People's Party (CPP) would survive, they should concentrate on the National Democratic Congress (NDC) because they created rift in the CPP.
“The CPP has been penetrated by the newly created NDC . . . and that they have created confusion within the party which was then broken and fragmented into six political parties. And I wrote if the CPP wants to survive, they should not look our way because we are not out to destroy them. They must proceed to extricate themselves from the bowels of the NDC, then they will survive because as at now they are swallowed and as a truism, they know or should know who swallowed them," he said.
But speaking on Peace FM’s 'Kokrokoo', Kabila has lambasted the Speaker for delivering a partisan speech on what he believed was supposed to be a national commemoration of the achievement of independence by Dr. Kwame Nkrumah.
To him, Prof. Mike Oquaye distorted the facts to suit him and his NPP, and so deliberately chose to take the shine out of Dr. Kwame Nkrumah.
He noted that he (Mike Oquaye) shouldn't have been allowed to deliver the public lecture because "he wasn't the right person" for the occasion.
He further said Prof. Mike Oquaye was insisting that J.B Danquah somehow founded Ghana and also went ahead to link him to the establishment of the University of Ghana and Akosombo Dam.
All this, he stated, were false historical accounts to downplay the heroic achievement of Dr. Kwame Nkrumah as the founder of Ghana.
Kabila however commended J.B Danquah and the other big six who helped in Ghana's struggle for independence but he cautioned Prof. Mike Oquaye not to distort and rewrite the country's history.

Kabila is swallowed by emotions, political antagony and freedom of speech to justify his inclusion in the Ghana's political fraternity. he has noise without knowledge and aggression without temperance. Nkrumah is a giant facilitator of an already cooked idea of ugcc.
We all know and understand the role nkrumah played as the first president of the country but he was never the founder of Ghana and he will never be.The man was invited to help and he did help in way and that does not make him the founder,Come to think of why is always behaving as if nkrumah was the of their paray? Is it for cheap political point? Hahaha
It is true that Nkrumah sponsored the founding of Ghana National College in 1948 but was he the founded it ? Three teachers and some students who have been sacked for participating in the 1948 riots had started their own school but were struggling with basic supplies.N krumah came in to assist and is that tantamount to founding?? At any rate where did the Ghana come from??? Kabuki,if you don't know ask and stop talking by heart!!
Folks, don't forget too soon. This guy sugar-coated Greenstreet to be the next president, yet, Greenstrreet lost miserably. What kinda of history do you know?
Ghana politics aye fo papa nsaborofo wei nso ka speaker of Parliament asem
This apio general too say weytin? Ey3 mobo p3!
Kabila I have read your comments unfortunately you have no hard facts to refute the evidences provided by the learned Proffesseur. That is what truth does when it points right in your face. You cannot hide truth even if you try fighting it. One-day it will come fighting back and it will surely win. Today the struggling Nkrumahs CPP which rode on cheap popularity is that clear evidence. The truth is out of the bag and every Ghanaian knows that Nkrumah can't be the founder of Ghana. We are still waiting for your facts Kabila!
Ghanaians at it again. whether Nkrumah is the founder or not we look for our own food to eat. These same people pretended that they are more Ghanaians. So if Nkrumah is the founder then why BIG SIX. When JJ was in the prison people were fighting seriously to free him.So JJ can not claim the founder of June 4th Apprising. So we should stop these unwarranted argument. Every party has their believes so now NPP should write their story as NDC wrote theirs. CPP wait when you come to power then you also write yours.
Ghana National College was founded by Kwame Nkrumah in July 1948. He gave 10 pounds to start the school when students from Mfantsipim and St. Augustine College were sacked by the colonial masters for supporting the 1948 disturbances. Kwame Nkurmah gave this name 9 long years before 1957. Chew on this historical fact
John the Baptist is not described as a co founder of Christianity even though he is starting preaching the word before Christ. Even Prof. Mike Ocquaye accepts Jesus as the father of Christianity, why is he finding it so difficult to accept Nkrumah as the father of modern day Ghana? Hmm! double standards
