DEPUTY DIRECTOR of the Microfinance and Small Loans Centre (MASLOC), Maame Afia Akoto has accused the Minority in Parliament of suffering from identity crisis.
Speaking to Obaasima Serwaa Akoto on Yensempa which airs on Agoo TV, the staunch New Patriotic Party (NPP) member said one of the major problems faced by the Minority is identity crisis
According to her, President Akufo-Addo has shown throughout his political career that, he is a true believer of the Nkrumah Ideology, therefore, there is no way the President will take an action that will compromise the recognition the former President deserves.
She explained that the Minority has tried to paint a picture that, His Excellency Akufo-Addo is deliberately plotting to wipe Nkrumah’s name off Ghana’s history books and replace it with that of other members of the big six like J.B. Danquah and Edward Akufo-Addo.
Her comments come on the back of Minority’s criticism of a proposal by the President that August 4 should be marked as Founders’ Day. The leadership of the Minority has called on party sympathisers to embark on what they are describing as a solidarity March to commemorate the Founder’s Day celebration come Thursday, 21 September.
Maame Afia said the Minority has in no way shown that they believe in the Nkrumah Ideology. According to her, the National Democratic Congress (NDC) had eight years to show Ghanaians and the world that they believed in Nkrumah’s ideology but they could not.
“The NDC failed to show their belief in Nkrumah’s Ideologies in the eight years given to them by Ghanaians. They even failed to live up to the standards on which their founder established the party. Where do they belong? The biggest problem with the NDC is that they have identity crisis.” She said.
She added that the NDC had even failed to live up to the ideologies on which the party was founded by its founder, former President John Rawlings.
According to her, former President Rawlings founded the party on “probity and Accountability” but according to some bigwigs of the NDC, specifically Dr Tony Aidoo, the erstwhile Mahama Administration failed the corruption and accountability test.
She added that the Minority was bored and had decided to do something, hence the organisation of the so-called solidarity walk to commemorate Nkrumah’s Memorial Day. She alleged that all these activities by the Minority are being forced on them by the propaganda secretariat of the party.
“We are waiting for the NDC to embark on their walk. But they have to answer questions about who they really are after their walk,” she added.

IS BETTER KNOWN IN THE NORTHERN REGION AS MAHAMBOLE!!!!!!!!
What do u mean? When will the Npp communicators stop lying to Ghanaians that they believe in Nkrumah's ideology? Your fathers over threw the man in the most cowardly way when he had left his family and travelled out of the country. When you ppl took power you made the mentioning of his name a treasonable offence then now you turn back and say you stand for Nkrumah's ideas? God have mercy on you ppl. Our problems today is as a result of your greed. Ever since u assume power all you are interested in is to rewrite the history of Ghana and make your terrorist fathers hero and it will not come to pass.
These NDC people again jumping on the wave of being Nkrumah's sympathizer. But they don't show any incline or trait of who the man was. If they were of Nkrumah they would have exhibited the character of Nkrumah. The good book says by their deeds you shall know them. They are of their father the devil. If they knew who Nkrumah was they wouldn't have wasted over 30 Billion dollars of Ghana's resources with nothing to show for. ***barred word*** or stealers as someone calls them. We should keep them away from power for 5 decades for our good.
Nice one there Afia . You really nailed it on this confused bunch and their "Movie Star"John Mahama.
