The attention of the Office of the President has been drawn to a false news report that President Akufo-Addo has congratulated one of the contestants in Liberia's Presidential run-off.
Unsurprisingly, this fake news is making the rounds on news portals belonging to political opponents of government, and being circulated on social media by political opponents.
We wish to state categorically that the President has made no such call, and we urge Ghanaians to disregard this false news. Just like the rest of the world, we will await the results of the run-off as declared by Liberia's Electoral Commission.

The rebuttal came at the right time Mustapha. But it will be more pleasing to respond swiftly whenever false information is placed in the national dailies or on the airwaves by explaining explicitly well in the language the general populace will understand. NDC is bent on tarnishing the image of my party and this must be neutralized.
Whether Gbese mantse, sheikh ,angel, nii mei Akufo Addo has blessed the elections in Liberia or not is irrelevant. All African politicians are incompetent anyways. The election of Weah call it or not is not going to advance anything in Liberia. The country has just become another laughing stock with an ***barred word*** who will just be manipulated by the western world for Liberia's diamonds and rubber. Election has consequences as they say and voting a footballer as a president , Liberia must stand ready to deal with the consequences. Who Jah Bless, no man curse.
It is very shameful. People who have promised better and alternative governance are now trying to claw on corrupt practice. How can you condemn a classroom block of 300k just year ago and turned round to justify 700k classroom block. Inflation is just about 11%, and if MTN built a classroom block at 170k, we expect a classroom block to cost 188.7k a year on and not 700k. It is shameful.
