The Ashanti Regional Chairman of the New Patriotic Party (NPP), Bernard Antwi Boasiako has heaped praises on President Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo for accepting the nomination of Martin Amidu as Special Prosecutor.

A joyous Wontumi as affectionately called in politics noted that Martin Amidu perfectly suits the position he has been nominated to occupy.

“Amidu’s nomination is perfectly right. For me, no one will flawlessly do the work than him. I am proud of the president for accepting his nomination,” he said in an interview with NEAT FM’s morning show ‘Ghana Montie’.

The Attorney General, Madam Gloria Akuffo, nominated Mr Amidu and his nomination was accepted by Nana Akufo-Addo. Mr Amidu will carry out the responsibility of independently fighting corruption.

He will have the full authority to initiate investigations into all suspected corruption-related offences of all persons in Public Service.

But many believe that Amidu who is also known as ‘Citizen Vigilante’ will witch-hunt some members of the opposition NDC for their alleged corruptible acts.

However, Wontumi has noted that “Amidu is not Kakai to be chasing people”.

If corruption has been with us since Adam, how can Adamu Amidu eradicate it from our midst? So Adamu Amidu is coming to turn Ghana into Burkina Faso (Land of Incorruptible People). E no be so? Ghana, the next heaven, where there is no corruption. Thank you, Adamu Amidu.
