General Secretary of the opposition National Democratic Congress (NDC) Johnson Asiedu Nketia has indicated that the inability of President Akufo-Addo’s government to curtail the rising crime rate in the country is making criminal activities look normal.
According to him, Ghanaians are beginning to accept crime in the country as part and parcel of their lives, as nobody is talking about the recent killings and brutalities, due to the fact that Akufo-Addo’s government is doing nothing to stop them.
Speaking on Okay FM’s 'Ade Akye Abia' Morning Show, the NDC Chief Scribe averred that his main concern is based on the fact that the peace in the country is being trampled upon as now shooting people to death is becoming normal.
“Now, the news that people have been shot to death in this country is becoming normal. People are beginning to accept that it is nothing new but normal to commit crime and everybody is quiet about this issue”, he asserted.
“Within three weeks in this year, Member of Parliament (MP) has been beaten to the point of death. Three police officers have been shot and one military officer has been killed by armed robbers; the police have arrested people in possession of bombs and the Bimbila riot. All these crimes are happening everyday and so they have become normal in the country”, he indicated.
He was worried about the fact that “nobody thinks about where this country is heading”; reiterating that ascending criminal activities will begin to decline if Ghanaians will come out to complain about the happenings in the country.
“If Ghanaians will come out to complain bitterly about the happenings in the country to Akufo-Addo’s government, the police and the military, the crime rate will go down”, he charged.
“The trend now is that the police and the military trained to protect us are rather being shot to death. What do you think will happen to the ordinary Ghanaian if we find ourselves in such situations?”

POLITICS HAS EATEN US UP IN THIS COUNTRY. PEOPLE ARE BEING KILLED EACH PASSING WEEK EVEN SOMEONE WORKING AT THE FLAG STAFF HOUSE A MILITARY MAN HAS BEEN SHOT AND KILLED AND EVERYBODY IS SILENT. LET IT HAPPEN TO A MINISTER OR A POPULAR PERSON AND YOU WILL SEE THE MEN OF GOD COMING UP TO SPEAK. IT WAS IN THIS SAME REGIME WHEN MAJOR MAHAMA WAS KILLED AND THE PRESIDENT SAID NEVER AGAIN AND THIS ONE HAS HAPPEND AND THERE IS SILENCE. SOMEONE IS SPEAKING UP AND HE IS BEING TOLD TO ***barred word*** BECOUSE THIS IS NOT THE FIRST TIME. IF IT WAS IN MAHAMAS TIME THIS SAME PEOPLE INSULTING WILL SPEAK UP AGAINST THAT GOVERMENT. WHAT IS WRONG WITH US AT ALL? EVEN RAWLINGS IS QUIET SINCE HIS NEW FOUND FRIEND IS IN POWER. AS FOR NANA KUNADU SEE NO EVIL HEAR NO EVIL SINCE SHE IS COMFORTABLE WITH THIS GOVERMENT HER MAIN AIM IS TO SEE THE NDC OUT SO ITS VERY DIFFICULT FOR THEM NOW TO SPEAK.
So nobody was beaten or killed when NDC was in power? $tup1d
Thank General 1, we shall hit the street by tomorrow to start demanding our life and our properties are protected from the president

Common sense should tell you that if the IGP is not doing his work well you replace him with someone who can do the job. Is it your duty or the president duty to effect that change? Should you be the one to be blamed if the IGP is not doing his work or the one who appointed him? Common sense
See his goatish face. This Nketia guy is perhaps the most 1diot after Shi*thole Trump.
what was the IGP appointed to do ... SHOULD THE ONE WHO APPOINTED HIM DO HIS JOB FOR HIM THEN WHY WAS HE APPOINTED .. AND U ALSO THINK YOU MADE SOME SENSE ...
So do you think your comment made some sense? Who appointed the IGP?
