Mr Johnson Asiedu Nketia has described the arrest of his deputy allegedly for making treasonable comments as a blessing in disguise in the light of the demonstration they are organizing today.
He said Koku Anyidoho “is fine and great” and the arrest is “much ado about nothing”
Mr Koku Anyidoho reportedly said the history of Akufo-Addo’s father’s deposition in a coup d’état will repeat itself on Accra-based Happy FM.
“On January 13, 1972 a certain Col. Ignatius Kutu Acheampong led a movement that removed the Progress Party from power. Busia was the Prime Minister and Akufo-Addo’s father was a ceremonial president. Somebody should tell Nana Akufo-Addo that history has a very interesting way of repeating itself.” Koku said.
“There’ll be a civil revolt. There’ll be a people’s movement. During President John Mahama’s tenure didn’t we receive similar threats from the likes of Let My Vote Count and OccupyGhana,” Koku said on Happy FM.
“There’ll be a civilian coup d’etat; there’ll be a social revolution and the movement is starting on Wednesday. He [Akufo-Addo] will be fed up at the Presidency.”
But the NDC General Secretary Asiedu Nketia has asked Ghanaians to rubbish Koku’s statement as it doesn’t represent the NDC position.
Speaking on Starr FM, Mr Asiedu Nketia said “The NDC party has a way of making information from the party known to the public. What Koku Anyidoho said is his opinion and not the position of the NDC party. Koku Anyidoho did not speak on behalf of the NDC as a party. He expressed as an opinion. Those are the words of Koku Anyidoho…he didn’t speak on behalf of the NDC

Medaase Ampofo, you said it all.
As Ghana under the present government marches forward and step by step improves the institutions within the country to the satisfaction of the majority, the level of frustration within the NDC will grow daily because it is becoming abundantly clear to them that the possibility of coming back to power through legitimate means is becoming a mirage. The statement Koku made is an indication of their frustration. Majority of these so called NDC gurus are not capable of creating legitimate wealth on their own therefore without politics their lives are a mess. As we match towards 2020, these skirmishes will escalate because a desperate person no longer fears death. As Ghanaians become more discerning about politics, such stomach politicians will gradually be wiped out of the political arena and only those with a true passion for the development of the country will be voted into office.
NDC, NDC, NDC, are you normal? This has always been your MO. When such comments lead you to court or the police station, you turn around to say this has nothing to do with NDC, but when the man was being led away, you rally your folks. Why is Adawudu, a known NDC lawyer supposed to defend him if this has nothing to do with NDC? You guys did the same thing with the Montie 3. As soons as you smelt pepper on the horizon you backed out saying that some of the guys were not even NDC members. But you sent a known NDC lawyer and former Chief of Staff, Nana Ato Dadzie to lead their legal team; your Chairman Kofi Portuphy told he whole world the fine slapped on them by the SC was 'too much for NDC to bear' and well known NDC members and former ministers went round collecting donations for the incarcerated three. The NDC that had nothing to do with that opened a petition book which was signed by sitting ministers of state and recipients of John Mahama's largesse like Akua Donkor and bootlickers like Bernard Mornah (who was part of the sorry spectacle yesterday). NDC whether you like it or not, you are totally complicit in Koku's comments! You say you dissociate, but you rally around him smiling from ear to ear. You are nothing but a coup party legitimized by Rawlings and transformed into a ***barred word*** brigade by John Mahama. Leave Ghana alone!
