Editor-in-Chief of the New Crusading Guide Newspaper, Abdul Malik Kweku Baako has said the opposition National Democratic Congress (NDC) has become uncomfortable and troubled following the launch of the Nation Builders Corps (NABCo).
The NDC has expressed its opposition to government’s plan to hire 100,000 unemployed graduates as part of NABCo.
The largest opposition party has said the government program ‘Nation Builders Corps’ (NABCo) offers no new plan to create jobs but a duplication of the Youth Employment Agency (YEA). It has also said the GHS700 salary for the employees ridicules the value of a tertiary level certificate.
NABCo will initially operate seven modules designed to meet the pressing needs of the nation while providing jobs for the teeming youth who have received tertiary education but are struggling to find jobs.
The modules include the Feed Ghana module where people serve as agric extension officers to help our farmers. There’s also the Educate Ghana module where people will teach science and mathematics in High schools. The Revenue Ghana module will take graduates into the Ghana Revenue Authority to help in the collection of revenue.
Then there’s also the Heal Ghana module where nurses who have been sitting home without jobs after school will be employed.
Speaking on Peace FM, the veteran Journalist stated that the NDC’s position on NABCo is incredible urging them to cut the mischief as the programme will offer temporary jobs to the many unemployed students who completed school during NDC’s tenure in office.
“There seems to be some fear for this programme, and an attempt to ridicule and bastardize it, I just don’t understand. The President himself has indicated that NABCO is not a substitute for sustainable jobs. Yes, constructive criticism is welcome but I hear people saying GHC700.00 is not enough salary for a graduate, some have even gone to the extent of appealing to them not to enroll in the programme. This is absolutely incredible, there are hundreds of thousands of graduates who have not done any work in the past five years and now they’ve this chance that will sharpen their skills and give them some training to prepare them for the future. NABCO must certainly not be bastardized.”

That is your own naive wishful thinking not what the reasonable matured voters are thinking. I am a ghanaian living in overseas I do not even vote in ghana but its my country of birth. God knows that I do not have any party connection in ghana. But its wise to know that akuffo addow is the most controversial and arrogant so called democratically president elected in ghanaian modern history. Ghanaian intellectuals and matured people who have history at their grasps shall never ever vote akuffo addow come next election so you can just sit there and bluff and sooner or later you are going to remember me here. Thanks
NABCO, represents, cheap labour, casual and temporary jobs, slave wages and npp propaganda tool
There should be no debate about NABCo. Any unemployed graduate who considers 700 cedis too small or does not believe in the program should not apply for a job under NABCo. It's that simple! It's not compulsory. It's a choice one has to make!
THIS IS THE KIND OF JOURNALIST THE PRESIDENT SAID HE DOESN'T NEED. PRAISE SINGING
Kwaku Baako never think before he supported any programme by the NPP Government
AS ndc people are saying the 700 is small, what did they do to reduce the unemployment rate in the country? For once let as us reason as people and not follow any political party blindly. Half a loaf is always better than none.
hi, ghana people john mahama is a disaster, no person should and must vote for him he will get 2% come 2020, have u ghana people forgotten the monies they looted, THE BUS BRANDING, THE SADA MONIES, THE WAYOMI MONIES, THE MAHAMA FORD CAR, THE ***barred word***, CORRUPTION AND INSULT, THE MUTIYA 3 WHO MAHAMA RELEASE FROM PRISON, THE MAHAMA 32 BEDROOM HOTEL IN DUBAI WHEN HIS VILLAGERS DONT HAVE WATER TO DRINK, HIS FAMILIES ***barred word***, N,D,C EXECUTIVE MONIES, THE OPUNI, MONIES THE SNNIT MONIES, THE BOASTER MONIES, MAHAMAA IS A DISASTER AND GHANA PEOPLE WILL GIVE HIM 2% COME 2020, the dumsor, poverty, let n,d,c be be in opposition for one million years, ghana people NOTE, NANA ADDO MUST CREATE ONE MILLION JOBS FOR THE YOTHS TO SHAME N,D,C
In this desperation, everything is fair, including telling libelous lies against persons and institutions, instead of addressing the fundamental issues of statecraft and economic management.
It appears ageing Kwaku Baako is gradually becoming a nuisance and very irritating. Who told him NDC is suffering from NABCophobia ? We are all witnesses to the state of the Youth Employment and all that happened in gyeeda and zeera groups. The best approach was to see to the re-organization of the various youth agencies including the YEA. This is Nana/Bawumuah Co. -NABCo and nothing more.
When people are planning to visit MARS ; NDC are saying it is not possible and like Kweku Baako I don't get it from these NDC reptiles and 'CON' politicians ; the economy in its state cannot absorb every graduate and would a waste of human resource to let them them '"ROT"; therefore some kind of a scheme to get these young graduates to employ their skills are been initiated by the Nana Addo ; the CPP under Kwame Nkrumah initiated such projects called the BUILDERS BRIDGADE in which both employed and unemployed joined the scheme to learn skills which they later on used to apply for jobs ; in the case of the CPP scheme most of participants were unskilled people who went out there to learn some skills for themselves ; the case of the NPP most of the participants will be graduates will high quality educational background and skills ;in China the same scheme are used to employ young graduates to be tax collectors; health inspector; security guards ; the young graduates end up getting valuable experience ; in the US we have the same scheme in which young graduates are employed at senators offices or in the town halls to gain experience ; WHY ARE THE NDC GETTING COLD COLD FEET ABOUT SUCH A SCHEME ? your guess is as good as mine ; their intention is to bring these riff-raffs without with education like Nii Lante ; Felix Kwakye; Kofi Adams ; KOKU ; and others to come into government and master mind robbibg of the nation -BRAVO NANA ADDO at least sombody is thinking for Ghana; NOT JON MAHAMA !!!!and his NDC thiffs and armed robbers !!!!
