Chief Executive Officer of the National Youth Authority, Emmanuel Asigri has blamed the opposition NDC for causing unemployment in the country resulting in the picketing of nurses across the country.
According to him, the NDC did not do a very good job with the management of the country’s affairs when they were given the chance to lead the country
“We are not even half way through our administration and they have the guts to criticize us?” he quizzed
Mr. Asigri who was addressing the issue of unemployment at an event alleged that the NDC is behind the agitating unemployed nurses.
“We as a government in our bid to solve the unemployment programme have created the NaBCO to absorb unemployed graduates but those in opposition have succeeded in brainwashing these nurses to boycott our initiative, it is very sad” he noted.
Background
At least 200 graduate nurses have since Monday besieged the premises of the Ministry of Health to demand posting to work in health facilities across the country.
The graduates said several appeals to the Ministry for employment after they completed school in 2016, have not yielded results. They said they have been idling at home for the past two years after successfully leaving school and completing their mandatory national service.
Picketing at the Health Ministry to demand employment has become a common phenomenon for various health professionals in the country especially in the last one year.
In the run- up to the 2016 general elections, the restoration or otherwise of nurses trainee allowances became a topical debate with the then opposition leader (now president), Nana Akufo-Addo bemoaning the cancellation of the nurses allowance, describing the John Mahama administration as insensitive to the plight of nurses.

Mahama has a very low IQ & is always very drunk on Pito so he cannot think.
Let the NDC go ahead a DECEIVE themselves! So Anita Desoso think NDC was the better alternative? With double salaries? You go on DECEIVING this LOW minded nurses. Before they are aware those of their colleagues would have taken ALL positions! The saying goes. "If fufu is pounded with a needle and the soup made from groundnut husk, those who do NOT want to eat will give ALL excuses like: 1. The fufu is full pebbles 2. The soup is not sweet. Before they (those FULL of complains) are aware, those who want something to eat, would have FINISHED eating
