Vice President of policy think tank, IMANI Africa, Kofi Bentil, has orated that Vice President Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia is the best contender to lead the New Patriotic Party (NPP) after President Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo’s tenure.
Although Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia has not shown any signs of contending for the NPP’s flagbearership, Kofi Bentil is confident that he (Bawumia) will make a good leader.
Seemingly impressed by Dr Mahamadu’s strides as Akufo-Addo’s running mate, the private legal practitioner declared, “On my own assessment I believe presently, if you look across the political scene the best person to take over after President Nana Addo will be Mahamudu Bawumia.”
Kofi Bentil made the above assertion when he took his turn on the ’21 minutes with KKB’ show hosted by Ghanaweb’s Editor, Kwabena Kyenkyenhene Boateng.
Quizzed on whether Dr. Bawumia will have his vote should in case he makes his next political ambitions clear, he (Bentil) affirmed, “If he continues the way he is going. If he continues to give me the confidence he gives me, I might vote for him.”
Although he quickly added that he would vouch for any other person who gives him ‘greater confidence’ than Bawumia while showering praises on the Economic guru.
“He’s really come a very long way- people deteriorate, all kinds of things can happen. But I have no problem saying that if nobody emerges to give me greater confidence then absolutely I might vote for Muhammadu Bawumia,” Kofi Bentil averred.

Bawumia is a fine gentleman who can become good president for Ghana but NPP has a tradition and that tradition is what made Nana Addo the candidate and subsequently the president although Alan was more marketable than him. Besides we also have to know whether ghanaians will accept Bawumia or not.He needs to beat Alan which is very difficult if not impossible
All the comments above are from NDC people pretending to NPP. You don't need a space scientist to tell you Bawumia will be the right man for Ghana after Nana. He keeps growing in political stature and what we know about NPP is that, loyalty and performance before tribe. Bawumia has grown above tribe. He is a true Ghanaian who fits into any group easily. Besides age is on his side. A good leader is the one who makes good leaders out of others and Nana is gradually building Bawumia for Ghana. Nana is vindicated for choosing him years ago and that is what we call vision. NDC might have one or two good guys but their deep seated tribal posturing is hindering their selection. They can't choose Ewe and they know why, Ashanti NO, because they don't trust them at that high level, Ga NO because the enlightened Ga are all in NPP, Fantis no because no Fante can cross over Amissah Arthur and he is also not good enough after his poor performance.
That guy will force Arabic down the throats of our children by making Arabic a compulsory subject which will set our country on course to become an Arabic nation. I use to admire him but not anymore. We don’t wanna be Arabia colony. Vote for Akwasi Nduom instead.
@ Pastor John: I think a little education is important here. The constitution of Ghana provides for freedom of worship and it is not categorical on the religious tangent the state has, or would assume. It's just by dint of numbers that puts we Christians ahead but legally, GH is neither a Christian, Moslem or traditional country
Apuuuuuuuu for the where. We NPP Footsoldiers shall resist any attempt to impose tani (northerner) on us. Besides muslims cant rule christian ghana. Ghana is a Christian country. Kofi Bentil is siiiick.
Bawumia is CPP. No CPP man will lead NPP. He should be happy with Vice Anyway he cannot even get us majority votes in his region. The North never votes NPP so why should we bother to have one of them as leader
We the NPP family know what exactly the best thing to do when it comes to the selection of the Presidential candidate after Nana Addo’s 8year term. And it is Bawumia, who will lead the party. Look, we have learnt a lot, and we quietly building our party into a formidable national character party, capable of winning any elections in Ghana for a considerable time period.
No, he has to wait his turn. He should join the queue. Look at what happened to Pres Mills, when he became Pres, many in the NDC didn't like the idea JJ just picked him over those who had been in the queue. So Bawimia should learn from that history.
Kofi please this time i will not really agree. Allan is there . Maybe after him (when he retires) then Bawmia can come
Too early this comment s uncalled for.
