Kwesi Pratt has expressed anger over public commentary regarding the mentioning of the Deputy Roads Minister, Anthony Karbo's name by the President of the Ghana Football Association (GFA), Kwesi Nyantakyi, who is under investigations by the Criminal Investigations Department for defrauding by false pretence.
The Deputy Roads Minister was invited by the Criminal Investigations Department (CID), having been named in the undercover investigations into corruption at the Sports administration undertaken by investigative journalist Anas Aremeyaw Anas.
He's the second official named in the investigations after the President of the GFA was captured in the latest Anas exposé allegedly using the President and Vice President of the Republic, Nana Akufo-Addo and Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia's names for influence peddling.
The investigations began after the President reported the alleged conduct of Nyantakyi to the police after viewing the video done by Anas.
The Insight newspaper Managing Editor, Kwesi Pratt, contributing to a panel discussion on Peace FM's "Kokrokoo", asked critics to stop creating the impression that Anthony Karbo is a "criminal suspect".
According to him, the Deputy Roads Minister hasn't been charged and so doesn't deserve such "unfair" treatment.
“I am furious. We’re creating the impression that Anthony Karbo is a criminal suspect. On what basis, are we creating that impression…What crime has he committed to deserve such treatment?” he questioned.
Anthony Karbo responded to a police invitation to interrogate him over the scandal which has been hyped as containing the downfall of big names in sports and politics.
He honoured the CID's invitation on Monday in the company of his lawyer Gary Nimako, and spent 20 minutes writing a statement and responding to queries.
According to Peacefmonline sources, the police are treating Karbo as a person of interest and not a suspect.

Just wait for 6th June for the whole video to be shown and you can now tell whether Karbo is a criminal or not. Whether he is the one who collected Vice President Bawumia's share of the bribe, and whether he sent the money or not. If he didnt sent the money, where is the money koraaaa?, whether he built three houses within a short time in office as Deputy Roads Minister - Oyarifa, Wa and Lawra? Whether he possess three V8 Landcruisers with one stationed in Lawra his hometown for family errands. All these within one year in office. Did Karbo accept the deal to negotiate with Vice president Bawumia for the bribe money to be passed through him? Unlike the President did, why didn't Karbo go to report Kwesi Nyantakyi to the CID or President Nana Akufo Addo for defamation of character and attempting to corrupt a public officer?????? The lead anti-corruption crusader against our candidate John Mahama and the NDC in 2016 elections. Karbo where is your morality ti still be in government. Just resign before we hit the streets of Ghana to demand your dismissal. We are waiting to meet him at Peace FM or TV3.
"According to Peacefmonline sources, the police are treating Karbo as a person of interest and not a suspect" pure propoganda, Karbo will not fall for you.
