Four persons have submitted a petition to the office of the Special Prosecutor to invoke section 3(1)(b) of the Office of the Special Prosecutor Act, 2017(Act 959) to have former President John Dramani investigated for alleged diversion of $13m meant for the development of Western Region from the E.O group of company as part of their corporate social responsibilities.
According to the petitioners, the basis upon which this petition is brought is as a result of an article published on Ghanaweb.com on the 2nd December, 2016 by the longest serving Deputy Attorney General of the Republic of Ghana in the person of Hon. Martin Alamisi Amidu who has been elected as the Special Prosecutor.
The petitioners believe the allegation, being a "criminal" one, must be "considered in the interest" of the Republic of Ghana.
"The said article alleged that, former President John Dramani diverted $13M to private pockets when he served as Vice President.
We do consider the allegation against him as criminal and for that matter, we humbly beseech your office to have this matter investigated to get those monies retrieved back to the public purse," they said.

Newspaper publication is no evidence at all. Unless and of cause they have some very deep evidence to provide. It is auseless petittion
I wonder how some Ghanaians think, there is a criminal activity which took place during formal president time as a Vice President, investigation is about to begin and if found to be true, severe purnishment awaits him, you come and sit here that everything about Mahama is not true, the very money which should have been use to develop your village has been stolen by this guy who mistakenly became president, you then complain that things are hard yet you are defending this criminality. Do you know where his family are as you sit here and defend him, do you know their wealth, may God forgive Ernest, funny and wayo
This is non-s***barred word*** coming from very desperate people. Anyway Amidu is now in charge and have the opportunity to prove his baseless allegations he was making when he was sitting in the comfort of his home.
The integrity Martin Amidu went down the drain when he said all his allegations against Mahama were rumours.
