Member of Parliament [MP] for the Odododiodoo constituency in the Greater Accra region, Edwin Nii Lantey Vanderpuye says that the President’s State of Nation Address [SONA] on sanitation issues is too much of sweet words than expected action.
“I taught President Akufo-Addo will give an exact report on how his administration has handled sanitation issues since their administration in his 2019 SONA delivery, not knowing it will be his old political gimmicks of promising to enhance sanitation issues by the end of his time in office,” he said.
He said the President since the days of his campaign have promised to curb sanitation problems in his first hundred days in office when voted into power, yet he has not been able to attain any of this promises but keeps promising.
“I will urge the President to be more of deed oriented in sanitation terms as soon as possible than his long term assurances, because as an MP in the city of the nation I get embarrassed when I move around town,” he indicated.
Speaking on Adom FM’s ‘mpensenpensenmu’ newspaper discussion programme, Nii Lantey Vanderpuye described sanitation issues under President Nana Akufo-Addo in Ghana especially Greater Accra as “one-junction, one heaped refuse dump”, meaning one comes across a heap of rubbish gathered at every junction in the city.

There he is folks! The incarnation of mediocrity, the stereotypical “third world” political activist who is elected to power as a legislator surely not by the size of his brain, but by the mindless and often xenophobic expressions that burst out of him like gases in a volcano! The sad state of politics in Ghana! O ANGELS AND MINISTERS OF GRACE, DEFEND US!!! How long has your dishonorable self been a legislator and political agitator? Pray tell, what enlightened solutions to the obvious sanitation problems in your constituency in particular have escaped from thy capricious mind to thine lips? Sir, thou shalt serve thy nation best by remaining silent for indeed through such forbearance ***barred word*** and unintelligent men have been mistaken for sages. I bid you a good afternoon.
