National Communications Officer of the opposition National Democratic Congress (NDC), Sammy Gyamfi, has described the charges leveled against his party Chairman, himself and Kweku Boahen as "funny" and a "strategy" used by the ruling party "to intimidate" them against their 2020 elections goals.
“The charges leveled against us are funny, uncalled-for and has no basis whether by fact or law, but they [authorities in charge of the case] are acting in such manner because they believe they have the powers in their hands,” he said.
According to him, they are waiting patiently to be invited to testify in court to tell their side of the story.
Speaking on on Adom FM’s ‘mpensenpensenmu’ political discussion programme, Sammy Gyamfi believed that the ruling party's interest in the matter is basically on three mischievous points against their party.
“The first is to put fear in members of the NDC, especially its leaders who speak on authority. Secondly, to disrupt our election 2020 tactical agenda and thirdly, play diversionary tactics to deflect discussions on the cedi depreciation to other matter which are not of importance to the national development,” he lamented.
He, however, stressed that the NDC will "never lose focus but speak the truth on concrete issues in a brave manner. Nobody can silence us in this country.”
Background
Mr Ofosu-Ampofo and two other executive members of the NDC, National Communications Officer, Mr Sammy Gyamfi, and a Deputy have been charged by the police and sent to the Attorney-General (A-G) for advice and further action.
The three [3] have been charged with conspiracy to commit crime with kidnapping intent and conspiracy to commit crime with threat of harm,”
According to the Public Relations Officer of the CID, Deputy Superintendent of Police (DSP) Juliana Obeng, following the charge, the police had asked the three NDC officials to cease reporting themselves to the CID Headquarters.

why learned people in ghana are supporting all kind of ***barred word*** of the npp govt lead by president akufu addo.there are all kinds of lawlessness by individuals belonging to the npp and learned people like you are not condemning it but rather attackink and intimidating people in the ndc. what a shame and as the saying goes 'by their fruit you will know them'
This little boy who has no respect for the elderly will never learn from his mistakes. You are too little to behave in such a manner. You speak as if you are God. Can't you humble yourself a little bit so that God will lift you up? Where were you raised up as a child, which institution did you attend and are your parents christians and alive? Aaaba. !!!!!!!
THIS IS ALL AYESEM. IT WILL CAUSE DEARLY TO OFOSU AMPOFO POLITICAL CAREER.

ediot go and read your cr1minal code well, babies with sharp teeth
Sammy keep cool ok when the time come then you can make noise ok.
Ndc lawyer just 1 and half years training and they call themselves lawyers, why wouldn't they lose cases in court! in 2012 ndc sent all their luminaries and those kept locked in boxes to represent them in the election petition case with NPP presenting new faces of lawyers while ndc tout about luminaries, big lawyers and the result was 5-4 at the end ! according to Justice Atuguba they gave ndc victory to bring peace!let them talk and listen and follow to the dictates of some lawyer commentators and brag No case ! when they get to the court they should tell the judge No case and walk out!if the police has to prove beyond doubts that they really meant to harm Ghanaians, they the suspects also have to prove why they made those statements with applause from their followers, they have to bring the original tape if doctored, they have to also prove why those words were necessary at that time of their meeting as no other statement was better for them than that. If they think America will let go a tape from Isis planning to harm Americans or Europeans when thd world know who they Isis are like Ghana know who ndc are and still looking for the Kidnapped T'di girls and the judge will wait for his/ her daughter to be kidnapped and wife or sister to be killed before they take ndc serious when their own of 3 judges were kidnapped by P/ndc and killed? then that judge might be a child !
