Contrary to reports that his wife, Abena Animah, drinks akpeteshie, the founder, and leader of the Glorious Word Power Ministry International, Reverend Isaac Owusu Bempah has said the wife does not take alcohol.
According to Rev. Owusu Bempah, his wife has never tasted anything alcoholic not to talk akpeteshie because she hates.
“My wife doesn’t drink alcohol; in fact, she hates it and has never tasted it before. I decided not to pay attention to this false report because it’s unnecessary. On that fateful day, my wife neither drank nor ate anything alcoholic.
“The ceremony was supposed to come off in the morning but because of some issues, it had to happen in the afternoon and because we had it in the afternoon, I told my wife to eat something before but she declined and said she would prefer a soft drink and so the drink she took that day was grape fruit drink and after she tasted it she asked for more because it was sweet and that is why people around her were surprised and not because she drank alcohol”, Rev. Owusu Bempah said.
Following their marriage ceremony last week, a video of Abena Animah allegedly taking shots of akpeteshie before the ceremony surfaced on social media.
In the very short video, the bride-to-be is seen asking another lady to pour her a drink stored in a container.
The lady poured what has been described by reports as akpeteshie and asked the man of God's wife if it was okay. Abena Animah was heard responding, “No, add some more” leading the women around her to shout in amazement.
But speaking in an interview on Neat FM, Rev. Owusu Bempah blamed detractors who are trying hard to tarnish his hard-earned reputation for the report.
According to him, he cannot allow his wife to drink alcohol in the midst of men of God the same way he will not condone such bad conduct in his church.
“I know some people are behind that act, claiming that my wife drinks alcohol. They only want to tarnish my image by reporting falsely. I won’t allow that in my church, so can my wife drink alcohol in the midst of men of God? Never?”, he retorted.
He pointed out that his wife has not been affected by the alcohol reports because she was confident that it was false.

Bottom feeders who don’t know their work. Should we also put their pathetic lifestyle on display? From Kwasi Aboagye who only goes after married women and the women he can control to bunch who lured vulnerable girls who are desperate and they sleep with them in exchange of a pitch on their uuuseless programs and the endless lists..... don’t start me off. Leave the woman alone to enjoy her marriage. See a time is coming some of us will also be spilling the beans of these unqualified and unprofessional bottom feeders called journalists. Go learn the ethics of the profession instead of sensationalisms u people cook to bring traffic to your sites and programs. Ghana will be small for all of us if u keep doing this. And to those aimless twarts called pundits who sit on radio and on tv and spew the garbage, like that uncivilised loud mouth sally and whatever moet who run down peoples hard earned reputation. Your day is coming. Some of us will have your time paa
Yes ,she drunk akpeteshie if not, why were the other ladies saying to her " woye osofo maame"?
Aaahhh, where is the alcohol she is drinking? Who reported this story?
Some Ghanaian journalists are not serious and one wonders how they acquired that professional status. Indeed pastor otabil was right in saying they do not most of the time report on things that would move us forward but on negative and non existent issues just to get attraction. In Ghana we celebrate mediocrity and that is why those journalists are encouraged to write on childish things. Did the journalist get confirmation that the pastor's wife indeed drank akpeteshie? A few weeks ago the a Diplomat was accused of breaking international protocal by showing a video which clearly proved otherwise. One would ask why this mischief? We must be seen as a serious country and what is sad is that the guilty ones are mostly the young journalists. Are we not breeding irresponsible youth?
