Ghana�s Midfielder, Michael Essien has indicated that funds raised from the game of hope football match will be used to finance the activities of four orphanages in Ghana.
According to him, the concept came about when he was appointed as a kid�s ambassador in Africa.
Speaking to the BBC, Michael Essien indicated that the game is to raise awareness and raise funds to cater for deprived children in orphanages.
�This year we changed the theme to the game of hope, to raise money for four orphanages in Ghana� he said.
He expressed the hope that all the invited foreign based players will honor the invitation �because when the season is over, all the go on holidays.�
The game of hope comes off on the 8th of June this year at the Accra Sport Stadium.
