The country’s football governing body, Ghana Football Association (GFA), yesterday sealed a US$2.1 million sponsorship deal for three years with GN Bank as the headline sponsor for the Division One League (DOL).
This year’s league will take a threezone format comprising 16 teams with the winner from each zone gaining automatic qualification to the Premier League.
GFA president Kwesi Nyantakyi lauded the sponsor for coming on board, saying, “This will certainly go a long way to develop grass root football in the country and I must commended GN Bank for this gesture.”
General Manager of GN Bank Issah Adams, announcing the package at the Coconut Grove Hotel in Accra, indicated that “as an indigenous bank, we’re doing this to develop our local football and make it more attractive.Besides, we consider it as our Corporate Social Responsibility.”
