Dethroned champions, Asante Kotoko, coasted home to a 4-0 victory over visiting Aduana in their final match of the First Capital Plus Premier League, at the Baba Yara Stadium, Kumasi, on Sunday.
The homers, who ended the league in the seventh position on 42 points, pending a protest to restore their deducted six points, fought like wounded lions to subdue their opponents.
Having finished the first half goalless, Kotoko turned the heat on Aduana Stars in the second half and broke the deadlock on 54 minutes courtesy Jackson Owusu.
Jackson would hit a brace six minutes later through a spot kick, with Obed Owusu and Richard Oti scoring the third and fourth goals in the 65th and 90th minutes, respectively, to overcome their opponents.
Aduana's attack centered on Yaw Afriyie and Dan Darkwa were wasteful upfront, missing the glorious chances they were presented with.
