Andre Ayew equaled Asamoah Gyan’s record at the Africa Cup of Nations after scoring in the team’s 2-1 win over DR Congo on Sunday.
The 26-year-old netted the match-winner from the penalty spot to increase his goal tally at the Cup of Nations to eight goals.
Ayew who made his Cup of Nations debut for the Black Stars back in 2008 had scored seven goals in the competition prior to the game against DR Congo.
The ex-Ghana U20 skipper emerged as the hero for Black Stars when he expertly converted from the penalty spot as the four-time Champions (Ghana) booked a place to the semi-finals for the sixth straight time.
The West Ham United ace will be hoping to find the back of the net in Ghana’s next game against Cameroon.
