Former Black Stars coach Avram Grant has been appointed as coach by Indian top-flight side North East United FC.
Grant will be returning into coaching in almost a year after leaving Black Stars’ job at the end of the 2017 AFCON.
North East African United FC confirmed the former Chelsea and West Ham manager’s appointment via their official Twitter handle.
Following his appointment, he said: “I agreed to the challenge and am hitting the ground running.
“India is a new and exciting environment for football and look forward to the pace of the league.
“I have confidence in the club and we will do all we can to take the club forward.”

Grant took Ghana to 1 african cup final, and on his second African cup final we were 4th position. The point he failed was qualifying Ghana to the World Cup which to me Grant did not come to meet good players. I blame kwasi Appiah for sacking out top flight players. Kwesi Appiah has problem with every player, when he came back he has already sacked the Ayews and Asamoah Djan. Do you think Ghana will have good players after Kwesi Appiah sacked Muntari, Kevin, Michael Essien etc, and he is back again as a coach. Blame Kwesi Appiah first, he did not leave a good team for Avram Grant
After plunging the Black Stars in total darkness we still writing news about him in the media. I don't see its importance to us in Ghana. We don't need it. He can even decide to go and coach in the sky, we don't care.
