The much-awaited Bui Power Project will finally come on stream today.
The first unit of 133 megawatts will be added to the national grid after a ceremony to commission the project by President Mahama later today.
Engineers working on the project completed their test run last week following a visit by the Vice President Paa Kwesi Amisah Arthur.
So far, 700 million out of the total cost of 800 million Dollars has been spent on the project.
Assistant External Relations Officer Mawuli Fui Kwadzuvia in an interview with XYZ Business said the 400 megawatt project is ninety two percent complete.
Mr. Kwadzuvia said although the plant will supply 400 megawatts of power by the third quarter, the project will be fully completed in 2014.
