Ghanas economy has continuously been suppressed by the energy crisis. Tried as we have; we always end up hitting a snag. And this has spurred President Mahama to seek support from the Dutch, in the area of renewable energy.
The country according to the president, consumes about a 1,900 megawatts of power yearly and this is far above current production.
However, a meeting which ensued between President Mahama and the Dutch Minister for foreign trade and development cooperation, Elizabeth Ploumen yielded positive results as she assured the nation that her country is prepared to assist us in the area of renewable energy generation.
The meeting which took place at the Flagstaff House in Accra also featured some element of sports as Madam Ploumen told President Mahama that she looks forward to see the Netherlands, play Ghana in a final of the ongoing World Cup in Brazil.
