This bring to 25 the total number of branches nationwide. And on Thursday of this week the number will reach 26, with the opening of a branch at Market Circle in the port city of Takoradi.

"Our objective is to grow our network God willing to 31 branches by the end of 2017, and so this year we will see expansion into Kasoa, Takyiman, Madina, and Tamale, and an additional outlet in Osu off the Ring Road," she added.

Head of Banking Supervision at the Bank of Ghana, Mr Raymond Amanfu who graced the occassion said having more branches are just not enough but being efficient and reliable is the hallmark.

He advised bank managers not to set unrealistic targets that will compel staff to use unorthodox and strange methodologies to meet them in order to attract sanctions.

He said the Bank of Ghana will soon introduce a deposit protection scheme that will seek to protect the interest of customers.
