The Attorney General and Minister for Justice, Martin Amidu has confirmed to Citi News that officials of one of the Jubilee Partners, EO Group will soon be dragged to court.
Although he declined to state when the officials will be charged, Mr Amidu alleged that the EO Group has committed offenses which the police have been instructed to charge them on.
�Offences have been committed by the EO group and the Police have instructions to charge those found culpable. Eventually they would go to court but whether it would be today or tomorrow that one I don�t know but they (the Police) have been instructed to charge them�, Martin Amidu noted.
Mr Amidu's comments confirm a report in the Monday June 20 edition of the Enquirer newspaper which claimed that the promoters of the EO Group will be slapped with some 9 charges.
The charges include forgery, conspiracy to commit fraud and deceiving a public officer.
The charges come after Tullow oil PLC entered into a conditional agreement to acquire the interest of the only indigenous company in the Jubilee partnership.
Reacting to the Enquirer�s publication on Monday, Mr Amidu noted that the court would not be hindered from charging some EO officials even though a member of the group likely to face fraud charges is at large.
�Some members or a member would be formally charged because the other member is at large and when he is charged eventually the case would go to court� he said.
