Let There Be Peace In NPP

There is the need for the leadership of the New Patriotic Party (NPP) to solve issues within the party if it really wants to wrestle power from the ruling National Democratic Congress (NDC) come 2016.

Aside the issues regarding factions of Nana Akufo Addo and Alan Kyeremateng, there are other issues in the NPP that need to be solved.

Yesterday, the internal wrangling and bickering within the opposition party took a turn for the worse when it degenerated into fisticuffs and shedding of blood.

But the timely arrival of Police personnel form the Nima Divisional Command, a different story will have been told. Security Personnel who work at the NPP headquarters were refused entry into the party premises by some unknown persons resulting in the bloody clash.

The Daily Searchlight is of the view that the party must be united to battle the NDC in 2016 not with the current division in the NPP.

A leading member of the NPP Fred Kwaku Amankwah-Sarfo has said that the party will forever remain in opposition if issues within the party are not solved amicably.

According to him, the party must be amalgamated within the ten regions to win back power from the ruling National Democratic Congress (NDC) whose governance have been questioned by its own members and the citizenry.

In an interview with peacefmonline.com Fred Amankwah-Sarfo opined that “Our electoral record is three successes out of 12. Most of our defeats at the polls have been the result of our own internal wrangling".

We hope the party would listen to the advice that keeps pouring in from concerned members of the party and sit up else, defeats stares at it face, come 2016.
