A Tarkwa circuit court has granted bail of GH¢ 8,000.00 with two sureties to be justified to Kwame Gyasi, a 35 year-old shoe maker for intentionally and unlawfully harming a 73 year-old man Kwaku Armoh.
He pleaded not guilty and would re-appear on August 12.
Prosecuting, Police Detective Chief Inspector Oscar Amponsah told the court, presided over by Mr Justice Alex Obeng Asante that the complainant Kyereboah Koduah is a businessman and an uncle to the victim and lives in the same house with the accused at Wasa Akropong.
Detective Amponsah said on April 23, around 300 am, the accused started making unusual noise by singing and dancing in the house.
The victim woke up he politely asked Gyasi to stop making the noise as it was too early in the day.
The Prosecutor said the accused became annoyed pulled out a sharp cutlass and attacked the victim, inflicted multiple deep cutlass wounds on him.
He said the accused person after committing the crime, took to his heels but he was arrested by people in the neighbourhood and was taken to the Wasa Akropong police station.
The Prosecutor said the victim was issued with police medical form to attend hospital where he was hospitalised for one week and was discharged afterwards.
Detective Amponsah added that the accused admitted the offence in the cautioned statement and pleaded for forgiveness.
