An Accra Circuit Court has remanded Lawrence Atipoe Selorm, a student, into police custody for alleged robbery.

The accused, who pleaded not guilty, would reappear on May 27.

Prosecuting Superintendent of Police Duuti Tuaruka told the court, presided over by Mr Aboagye Tandoh that the complainant in the case lives at Legon.

He said on April 25 at about 5:15am, the accused person attacked the complainant at a spot near the University of Ghana stadium close to the Nouguchi junction.

He said the accused person, who was wearing a black-hood jacket with a cap, dragged the complainant from behind into the nearby bush and ordered her to lie on the ground and remove her panties.

He said the accused person, who pointed a knife at the complainant threatened to kill, if she should shout.

Superintendent of Police Tuaruka said Lawrence in the process tried to insert his penis into the vagina of the accused person but penetration failed.

The Prosecution said the accused then ordered the complainant to put his penis into her mouth, which she obeyed and sucked it until he ejaculated into her mouth.

He said the accused, thereafter, collected the complainant’s bag, searched through it and in the process took a Blu mobile phone valued at GH? 750 and cash of GH? 100 and bolted.

“On the same day, accused person started sending whatsapp messages to complainant’s contacts requesting for money,” he added.

He said the accused person, gave the contacts a Tigo mobile money account number belonging to his friend, one Tetteh, who was also a witness in the case.

Superintendent of Police Tuaruka said Lawrence, who pretended to be the complainant sent a text messages like “l was attacked send me money”.

During investigations the police tracked the Tigo number arrested Tetteh and subsequently arrested Lawrence, who had in his possession the complainant’s phone.
