Pupils of the Ridge Basic School in Kumasi, have donated items and a cheque for GH�500.00 to the inmates of the Garden City Special School for the mentally retarded.
The items included clothing, shoes, detergents, rice, biscuits and soft drinks.
Mrs Linda Philips, headmistress of Primary section of the Ridge School, said the gesture was the pupil's contribution towards the wellbeing of underprivileged children.
Receiving the donation, Mr George Yamoah Manu, headmaster of the Special School, commended the pupils for the donation and appealed to individuals and organizations to support the School.
He called on government to provide the School with teaching and learning aids.
Mr Manu also appealed to Vodafone Ghana to restore the school's telephone line that was disconnected because the school could not settle its bills.
