In reaction to Peace FM enquiries into the increased incidence of armed robbery in the country, the Public Relations Officer (PRO) of the Ghana Police Service, DSP Kwesi Fori has told Peace FM that the service is on top of the problem.
He said in spite of the lack of certain resources to work with, the Police are on top of the issue but then cautioned citizens to take preventive measures against armed robbers and always remember the police emergency numbers, especially 191.
He was quick in his response because some of the victims who spoke to Peace FM on Kokrokoo had alleged that there had been instances when their call for police help had not been answered with the expected dispatch.
However, he urged public to report all crimes to the police instead of keeping them to themselves or taking the law into their own hands because the police depend on public information to solve crimes.
