President John Mahama has arrived in the Western Region to officially commission the 130 megawatts T3 Plant whose construction was started in 2010 and is now complete.
He is also expected to cut the sod for commencement of work on the steam unit of another thermal plant, the TICO Thermal plant.
The T3 project was financed with a loan from the Canadian government.
The T3 Aboadze Thermal Plant which uses combined-cycle turbine technology will use a dual fuel configuration of light crude oil (LCO) and natural gas.
On the 18th of January 2010, President, John Dramani Mahama,then vice president cut the sod for the commencement of the combined-cycle power plant project (T3) at Aboadze.
