The Ghana Armed Forces has stated that the Armoured Personnel Carriers, APC's, which are currently engaged in test drives, is part of the re-tooling of the Army which started in 2009.
In a statement, the Director of Public Relations, Colonel Mbawuni Atintande, said the acquisition of these APC's has no bearing on the forth-coming Supreme Court verdict.
The statement followed a media publication that some Chinese military personnel are in town ahead of the Supreme Court (SC) verdict.
Colonel Atintande also emphasised that the APC's were acquired from China, therefore there is the need to have representatives of the manufactures to aid in the technology transfer.
He assured the public that it will continue to support the Police service and other security to ensure peace in the country at all times.
