The Ga-Dangme Council is demanding the return to original owners all public lands that have not been used, or are not being used for their original purpose of acquisition.
It says the continuous occupation of such lands either privately or for public use is against natural justice.
The council also called on government to honour its manifesto pledge of giving back unused lands to their owners.
An Accra based legal practitioner, Bright Akwetey, delivering a lecture on compulsorily acquired lands - Public interest and Public purpose versus private interests said it is wrong for public officials who hold land in trust for the people to sell those lands to themselves and others.
