Gas exports from the Jubilee Field to the Ghana Gas plant at Atuabo is expected to resume by mid-August.
Gas supply from the Jubilee Field was suspended on July 3, 2015 due to technical issues with gas compression systems on the FPSO Kwame Nkrumah.
The suspension of gas to the Atuabo Gas plant resulted in the cut of gas to the Volta River Authority (VRA) thermal plants at Aboadze.
Experts
A statement issued by Tullow Oil plc yesterday said Tullow had mobilised a team of experts to rectify the fault within the gas compression system.
It said it would take approximately a further three weeks to reinstate gas export and full oil production.
“Oil production is currently constrained to approximately 65,000 bopd (barrels of oil per day) and is under constant review but there is no effect on the Field’s reservoir or resources,” it said.
Production target
The statement said Tullow would review its 2015 production forecast for Jubilee and provide an update on progress at its half yearly results on July 29, 2015.
“Tullow Ghana Ltd regrets the disruption caused by the suspension of gas export and assures the Ghanaian public that it is working hard to rectify the problem on the FPSO safely and speedily,” it noted.
