The Teachers’ and Educational Workers’ Union (TEWU) has declared a nationwide strike, starting today Wednesday, January 13, 2021.
According to TEWU, the strike action follows the lack of corporation on the part of the Fair Wages and Salaries Commission as far as demands for better conditions of service are concerned.
The KNUST Chairman of TEWU, Mr Charles Arthur speaking in an interview on Peace FM morning show 'Kokrokoo' “We are saying our conditions of service will have to be concluded because, in the conditions of service, we are supposed to be given other allowances which others are receiving..."
He said calling off the strike will depend on the Fair Wages and Salaries Commission.
"If they had paid attention for us to conclude the negotiations, such a situation would not have occurred” he added.
