The Minister of Food and Agriculture, Bryan Acheampong, has urged for urgent action in the fight against illegal mining (galamsey).
Although he didn't provide a specific solution for addressing the canker, he believes that the nation must either confront it head-on or accept it.
The MP for Abetifi constituency who was trying to hold back his comment on the issue while speaking in a one-on-one interview on Peace FM's morning show 'Kokrokoo' said: "Let's be serious in dealing with this issue. It's either we are doing it or we're not...if we decide to do it, we have to deal with it once and for all . . . if you want to manage it; let people know you're managing it".
