Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia has promised to give every tertiary student in Ghana a laptop under his reign as President of Ghana.
The Vice President and flagbearer of the governing New Patriotic Party made this known while outlining his vision and policies for Ghana as he solicits the votes of Ghanaians.
He highlighted his manifesto in an address held at the Kofi Ohene Konadu Auditorium at the University of Professional Studies, Accra, on Wednesday, February 7, 2024.
Dr. Bawumia stated emphatically that, if elected by the electorates, one of the key areas he will be looking at is Ghana's education system and that he will roll out a "1 student, 1 laptop" policy to meet the educational needs of students in the country.
"Teachers have already been given the requisite training. Following the Senior High School, we will also implement a 1 student, 1 laptop policy for tertiary students through the provision of 0 interest loan with a 70% discount on the cost of laptop payable over 4 years for tertiary students who need laptops", he promised.
