National Chairman of the Progressive People's Party (PPP), Nana Ofori Owusu, believes communicators for the New Patriotic Party (NPP) are doing more harm than good to the flagbearer and leader of the Party, Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia.
According to Nana Ofori, there appears to be a conscious effort to dissociate the Vice President from all negative happenings in the governance system and associate him with all the positive feats and successess chalked by the party. He accused these communicators of exhibiting "contradiction of thought" and inconsistencies in their narratives.
"One thing that the advisors or communicators do is unpleasant. Sometimes they dont understand the utterances they make. They are trying to dissociate the man from anything that is negative and give credit to him for everything that is positve. It is a fundamental contradiction of your thoughts and actions. You can't do that; when you do that, you are doing your candidate harm.''
''There is an issue and the issue is that, on one hand you cannot paint the picture that you do not have the power to do anything then on the, the person has done well to be the best ever........,'' he added.
He said this in relation to the 7th February "Bold Solution" Lecture held by Dr. Bawumia to outline his vision for his next government.

Bawumia's promise to streamline some taxes and abolish others should tell you his advice on some key issues were ignored by the finance minister who was behaving like "the vehicle is for my father, you are only a mate and can't tell me what to do". Have you ever heard Bawumia speaking publicly about the E-levy? Have you ever heard him commenting on the suspension of road tolls? Have you ever heard Bawumia commenting on the domestic debt exchange program when monies of very respected senior citizens were seized against their wish. This should tell you he was not happy with some of the decisions of the finance minister who looked for powerful than the president. Why do you think the MP's of the ruling NPP demanded the removal of the finance minister to no avail. The realized that he was not fit for purpose. More so the MP's were very much aware that the Vice President was often ignored by the finance minister on some key policy decisions. This is exactly what Bawumia meant when he said he was a driver's mate. The real car owner was Ken Ofori Atta , after all he supported his brother with funds to buy the vehicle. You need to be a keen observer to know Bawumia even though the Vice President and head of the economic management team he was still limited. Assuming the PPP was in power and Ndoum decides to make his cousin as the finance minister, can you as national chairman of the PPP direct the finance minister even though you also sit in cabinet ? Can you? If you offer sound advice and he refuses to go by your advice, what else can you do? Tell us?
