Peacefmonline.com can confirm that a Circuit Court in Accra has remanded embattled police chief, DSP Gifty Mawuenyega Tehoda in prison custody to reappear on February 6, 2012.
She has been charged with abatement of crime and stealing of cocaine by the national intelligence outfit, the Bureau of National Investigations (BNI).
DSP Tehoda was said to be in tears when she was led out of the court room to prison custody.
The BNI indicted deputy chief of the Commercial Crimes Unit of the Police CID in the cocaine swap saga in their interim report.
DSP Tehoda has been in BNI custody since December 29, 2011 and was released on bail last Friday, but that freedom was curtailed moments later after the BNI re-arrested her.
More soon.
