Public Accounts Committee of Parliament on Monday began a week long sitting to consider reports of the Auditor General on the performance of public institutions whose reports are currently before the body.
Chaired by Mr Kwaku Agyeman Manu, the Committee first examined statement of foreign exchange receipts and payments of the Bank of Ghana for the half year ending June 30, 2012.
The statement covered institutions such as the Ministry of Finance, Bank of Ghana, Controller and Accountant General�s Department, Ministry of Lands and Natural Resources, Minerals Commission and Ghana Cocoa Board.
The second on the list is the report on management and distribution of anti-retroviral drugs to be followed by report on management and claims by the National Health Insurance Authority.
Other reports to be examined are the Public Accounts of Ghana Public Boards, Corporations and other statutory institutions for the year ending December 31, 2010 and 2011.
Mr Manu noted that the PAC had proposed the creation of a sub-committee to be solely responsible for enforcement of recommendations made by members.
