According to Mr Hamid, it was agreed that he resigns from the position to allow him concentrate on his work as spokesperson for the president-elect.
Speaking to Viasat 1 News, Mustapha Hamid, who is also a lecturer at the University of Cape Coast said he had initiated the process of taking leave from the school in order to serve in the incoming government.
He said his withdrawal from the transition team is not a demotion but an agreement reached to allow him concentrate on his duties as spokesperson for Nana Addo.
“I will ask a leave of absence from the university, the processes which i have started in order to disengage and serve full capacity in government. I’m the spokesperson of Nana Akufo-Addo and that in itself is huge responsibility, so on hindsight, i shouldn’t have accepted the added responsibility as the spokesperson for the transition team,” Mustapha Hamid explained.
“A transition team has a short lifespan, so that is no position at all, as far as i’m concerned,” he added.
Mustapha Hamid reiterated the NPP’s position on the last minute appointments and contracts awarded by the outgoing NDC government describing it as an “exercise in bad faith”.
He stated that the NPP will review such contracts and appointees within the confines of the law.

Hahahaha is this guys who said they are not coming to chop Ghana money? hahaha meanwhile people are already resigning from their current jobs to serve Gorvernment. Time will tell
Mutapha will excel in a any position and he deserves it as well. He stuck to Nana through thick and thin. My prayer for you is that you succeed any add your quota to mother Ghana's development.
I admire this guy so much,he's knowledgeable, hardworking and humble, you know in our society we tag courageous and firm people arrogant.I'm not surprise Nana Addo has allowed him to speak for him all this while,he'd really worked hard for Prez-elect.He'll excel as an information minister.Hamid alone is a sign that Nana Addo is a serious person.
Good for his students. He is more of a poison to his students than a knowledge provider. Four years is nothing. It is just around the corner. I advise you to be careful of your rush for positions.
@KENNY. Yes Kenny that's your opinion. I respect your opinion but I strongly disagree with you. This Guy has work so hard. Opposition is different from government. Lets not start the tagging and the name calling. its too early. Let's give him the chance. he has work so hard. I think he deserve any position. He's educated and well qualify. That's my opinion.
IN AS MUCH AS I WANT NANA ADDO TO SUCCEED,IF THIS GUY IS GIVING ANY POSITION RELATED TO COMMUNICATIONS,I PLEAD THAT HE TONES DOWN SMALL BECAUSE,I SEE A LITTLE ARROGANCE IN SOME OF HIS SUBMISSIONS BOTH ON RADIO AND THE TELEVISION.HE SOMETIMES ANNOYS PEOPLE WHEN BEING OPPOSE TO ARGUMENTS.I SEE HIM HAVING THAT TYPE OF KWAKYE OFOSU'S CHARACTER BUT HOPE, HE WON'T GO THAT WAY.
